Two teams coming off upset wins in the 1^st round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament will face off against each other with the winner advancing to the Sweet 16 when the 14-seed Oakland Golden Grizzlies face the 11-seed NC State Wolfpack in the 2^nd round of the NCAA Tournament in the South Region with the game taking place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena and will air on TBS with the game scheduled to start at 7:10 PM ET on Saturday.

Despite being a 14-point underdog in their 1^st round matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies pulled off the upset win on Thursday which also extended their winning streak to five games. Jack Gohlke was one of the key players for the Golden Grizzlies in their win against the Wildcats as he shot 50% from 3-point range hitting 10 of 20 attempts and ended the game with 32 points. 

The win also marked the first win in the 1^st round of the NCAA Tournament in school history with their other win coming in an Opening Round win against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in the 2005 NCAA Tournament before losing in the 1^st round against the North Carolina Tar Heels by a score of 68-96. Oakland’s previous trips to the tournament had also resulted in losses by an average margin of 18.33 points per game. 

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies will hope for another big performance from Jack Gohilke in the 2^nd round against the NC State Wolfpack as they attempt to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.

The NC State Wolfpack have carried over the momentum following the win in the ACC Tournament Championship game and have extended their winning streak to six games following an 80-67 win against the 6-seed Texas Tech Red Raiders in the 1^st round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Thursday night. 

The success NC State has offensively during the ACC Tournament also carried over and has averaged 81.33 points per game over their last six games and has held its opponent to under 70 points in four of their last six games. The NC State Wolfpack have also been one of the best teams at covering the spread as an underdog this season with a record of 10-6-1 ATS, however, they will be the favorite in their matchup against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Saturday as the NC State Wolfpack will look to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since the 2015 NCAA Tournament where they lost to the Louisville Cardinals in the Sweet 16 by a score of 65-75 with a win over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in the 2^nd round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Saturday evening.
