NC State Wolfpack Team Preview

There will be a lot of teams on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament tuning in for this game as the ACC Conference Tournament Championship game will feature a team that finished in 10th place in the conference with a conference record of 9-11. The Wolfpack needed a miracle on Friday night to force overtime in their ACC Semifinal against the Virginia Cavaliers nailing a 3-point shot at the buzzer to tie the game against Virginia before winning the game in overtime by a score of 73-65.

The Wolfpack started their tournament in the 1st round on Tuesday and have won four games in a row to advance to the ACC Conference Tournament Championship with wins over the Louisville Cardinals by a score of 94-85 in the 1st round, the Syracuse Orange in the 2nd round by a score of 83-65, the Duke Blue Devils in the Quarterfinals by a score of 74-69, and the Virginia Cavaliers in the Semifinals. Not many expected the Wolfpack to reach the ACC Championship game after finishing the regular season on a four-game losing streak and NC State entered the ACC tournament at +6000 to win the championship. However, NC State lost both games against North Carolina this season with a loss in game one at home by a score of 54-67 and a loss in game two on the road by a score of 70-79.

The Wolfpack will look to avenge those two losses and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament when they face the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC Championship game.
