The Toledo Rockets will face the Wyoming Cowboys in the 2023 Arizona Bowl in Tucson, Arizona in the Arizona Bowl on Saturday, December 30^th with kick-off scheduled for 4:30 PM on Saturday afternoon and will air on Barstool and the CW.

 

Toledo won the West Division of the MAC Conference with a record of 11-2, however, they lost in the MAC Championship Game against the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks by a score of 14-23 which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

 

The success for the Rockets this season can be attributed to their offensive play as they are averaging 33.62 points per game which ranks 28^th in college football while also having one of the best scoring defenses as they are allowing the 26^th fewest points per game with an average of 20.62 points per game.

 

The rushing offense for the Rockets was also one of the best in college football this season as they rank 10^th in rushing yards per game with an average of 203.08 rushing yards per game. Peny Boone was one of the best running backs in the MAC Conference this season and led the team in rushing with 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns while adding 15 receptions for 216 yards and a touchdown. The Rockets will look to bounce back following the loss in the MAC Championship when they play the Wyoming Cowboys.

 

The Wyoming Cowboys finished in 4^th place in the Mountain West with a record of 8-4 and won three of their final three games including their final two games of the regular season which included a 42-6 win on the road against the Nevada Wolfpack in the season finale while having won by an average margin of 34.5 points per game during the win streak.

 

Wyoming was a slightly above-average scoring team this season as they enter this game averaging 26.08 points per game while their scoring defense was one of the best in college football this season as they allowed an average of 22.92 points per game. The Wyoming Cowboys will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they play the Toledo Rockets in the Arizona Bowl on Saturday afternoon.

Not a game that I am overly excited about with Toledo losing their starting QB in the portal that will make a difference in the game. Wyoming has a solid rush defense and they finished the season on a high note.  Slight lean to Wyoming at this time.
