The Arizona Coyotes will travel to St. Paul, Minnesota to face the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center with the game scheduled to start at 8:00 PM ET on Tuesday night and will air on Bally Sports North.

The Arizona Coyotes have been a basement team in the NHL for a long time and haven’t made the Stanley Cup Playoffs since the 2011-12 NHL season and this year appears to be no different as they are in 7^th place in the Central Division and have the 4^th worst record in the Western Conference at 26-34-5 and 57 points and have lost three of their last four games following Sunday’s 4-7 loss on the road against the Chicago Blackhawks. 

The Coyotes have struggled to score goals and to stop goals this season as they are scoring the 10^th fewest goals per game while allowing the 12^th most with an average of 3.3 goals allowed per game while averaging 2.94 goals per game. However, the Coyotes have averaged 3.67 goals per game in March but have allowed an average of 3.67 goals per game and are coming off a game against one of the lowest-scoring teams in the NHL in which they allowed seven goals. The Coyotes allowed five goals against the Wild on Thursday and have lost two of the three meetings this season with the lone win coming in the first meeting this season by a score of 6-0. 

The Arizona Coyotes will look to even the series at two games apiece when they travel to face the Minnesota Wild for the 4^th meeting this season.

The Minnesota Wild have been an average team at best in the Western Conference this season entering this game with a record of 31-27-7 and 69 points which puts them in a tie with the St. Louis Blues for 9^th place in the Western Conference and six points back of the Vegas Golden Knights for 8^th place in the conference. 

The Wild have won three of their last four games following Sunday’s win in overtime at home against the Nashville Predators which also includes a 5-2 win on the road against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. If the Wild are going to make a push for the playoffs this season then Minnesota is going to have to play better defensively and have stronger play from their goalies as they are allowing the 9^th most goals per game this season with an average of 3.31 goals per game because their offense isn’t strong enough for the Wild to be a serious contender as they are only averaging 3.13 goals per game which ranks 17^th in the league. Minnesota has defeated Arizona in two of the three meetings this season including the last two but have been lost by an average score of 2.67 to 3 in the matchups this season. The Minnesota Wild will look to extend their record to 3-1 against the Arizona Coyotes this season when they host the Coyotes on Tuesday night.
