The Seattle Kraken (28-28-12) and Arizona Coyotes (28-36-5) seek to get back on track as they face one another for the second time this season on Friday, March 22 at 10:00 PM ET at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona. The Kraken is our current moneyline favorite at -120.

The Kraken have lost their last six games and are in a tough spot. Their most recent defeat was a 3-1 road loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

They are 14-13-6 on the road, which does not show much dominance here. Jared McCann (27 G) will need to lead them offensively to help find scoring opportunities if their defense falters.

The Kraken have been producing 2.65 goals while taking 28.6 shots per game to get there. Looking at their last five matchups, this goal average has dropped to 1.80 scored a game. They cannot afford to continue a poor offensive setup if they expect to win.

The Coyotes are 2-3 in their last five games and are coming off a 5-2 defeat against the Dallas Stars on the road. This ended their two-game win streak, but at least they have tasted victory more recently than the Kraken.

Despite their losing record overall, they are 17-16-0 at home. This is arguably when they play their best, and they need to remain consistent if they want a shot at success.

The Coyotes are getting 2.91 goals on 27.3 shots a game this season. This number has slightly increased to 3.00 goals per matchup in their last five matchups. If they can sustain their offense, this should push them ahead.

Defensively, it gets interesting, as they are allowing their opponents to average 3.32 goals on 31.9 shots a game. Looking back at their most recent five games, this has actually looked worse, at 3.60 goals per game. As you can see, they boast a negative winning margin in allowing more goals than they can score.

The Kraken’s issues on both ends of the ice make it difficult to choose them here. While the Coyotes also have unappealing stats compared to the Kraken, they have at least scored a few wins and have kept teams from scoring as much on them in recent games.
