Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks

March 30, 2024

The Milwaukee Bucks will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to face the Atlanta Hawks at the State Farm Arena with the game tipping off at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday night and will air on Bally Sports

Southeast and Bally Sports Wisconsin.

Milwaukee Bucks Team Preview

The Milwaukee Bucks are close to clinching a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference for the 7th consecutive season as they enter this game with the 2nd best record in the Eastern Conference and although they aren’t going to be the 1 seed in the Eastern Conference they still have the opportunity to be the 2 seed and have a 1.5-game advantage in the Central Division over the Cleveland Cavaliers and will be looking to win the Central Division for the 6th consecutive year.

However, the Bucks are only one game above .500 in March with a record of 7-6 this month and are on a two-game losing streak entering this game following a 100-107 loss on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday, however, their last two games have been decided by an average margin of 5.5 points per game.

The Milwaukee Bucks will face the Atlanta Hawks for the 3rd time this season with the most recent meeting resulting in a 132-121 win at home for the Milwaukee Bucks, however, the Hawks won the first meeting this season by a score of 127-110 on the road. Milwaukee will look to win the regular season series against the Hawks 2-1 when they travel to face Atlanta in the final game of the regular season series.

Atlanta Hawks Team Preview

The Atlanta Hawks are looking to improve their playoff seeding and hold off the Brooklyn Nets for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference as they would be the 10 seed in the conference if the playoffs started today and have a 5.5-game lead over the Brooklyn Nets for the final spot in the Eastern Conference with only nine games left in the regular season.

The Hawks are one of the hottest teams in the NBA as they enter this game on a 123-122 win in overtime against the Boston Celtics on Thursday and have defeated the Boston Celtics twice during their four-game winning streak while having compiled a record of 8-6 this month. Atlanta won the first meeting this season on the road in a blowout but was blown out in the 2nd meeting on the road by a score of 121-132.

Last season’s regular season series ended in a 2-2 split and Atlanta will look to win the regular season series when they host the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of the regular season series on Saturday night.

Odds and Series Trends

BookMaker has the Milwaukee Bucks listed as 5-point favorites on the road against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. This has been an evenly contested series with the teams splitting the last ten games 5-5 with last season’s series ending in a 2-2 split. Milwaukee won the most recent meeting by 11 points, however, Atlanta has outscored the Bucks by an average of 116.9 to 113.9 points per game in the last ten games in the series.

Game Pick

Milwaukee has been the better team this season and won the most recent game in the series at home by a score of 132-121, however, Atlanta has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA and enters this game on a four-game winning streak which includes two wins over the Boston Celtics.

I look for Atlanta to keep the game close against Milwaukee and possibly get the win at home. As a result, I am taking the points with the Atlanta Hawks when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night.
