The Baltimore Orioles will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to face the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park with the game scheduled to start at 4:05 PM ET on Saturday afternoon and will air on 

SportsNet Pittsburgh.

The Baltimore Orioles are projected to be one of the top teams in the American League this season and have won their first two series this season following a 2-1 win at home against the Los Angeles Angels and a 2-1 win at home against the Kansas City Royals and won the first game of the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 5-2 win on Friday. 

The Orioles started the season off strong offensively, scoring 24 total runs in their first two games of the 2024 MLB season. However, they also feature one of the best pitching staffs to start the season, allowing an average of 3.43 runs per game and winning by an average margin of 2.43 runs per game. 

The Baltimore Orioles will look to win their 3^rd consecutive series to start the season with a win in Game 2 of the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have gotten off to a hot start this season. They enter this game with a record of 6-2 after sweeping the Miami Marlins on the road 4-0 in their season-opening series, and a 2-1 series win on the road against the Washington Nationals. However, in those contests, Pittsburgh has outscored the Orioles by an average of 4.1 to 3.4 runs per game. The Orioles have also won 13 of the last 18 games in the series; however, they have lost two of the previous seven games on the road.

Both teams enter this game with identical records of 6-2, and while Baltimore has won 13 of the previous 18 games in the series, the Orioles have lost five of the last seven road games in the series. The Pirates have also outscored the Orioles by an average of 4.1 to 3.4 in the previous ten games in the series. I look for the 2^nd game of the series to be closer than the first, and I look for the Pirates to bounce back following the loss in Game 1.
