Bellator 299 Betting Preview: Luca Poclit vs. Roman Faraldo
September 23, 2023
On the Bellator 299 preliminary card, a multitude of captivating betting opportunities beckon fans. One of the most compelling duels seeking your interest features the electrifying featherweight clash starring Luca Poclit and Roman Faraldo.
Date: Saturday, September 23
Venue: 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland
Prelims: 11:00 AM ET
Main card: 4:00 PM ET
Coverage: Showtime
Luca Poclit Betting Preview
Poclit has won his last nine fights after coming up short in his debut battle professionally. His most recent success was a unanimous decision over Oliver Enkamp in Bellator 296 in May earlier this year.
Among his nine victories, he secured one through a knockout, five via submission, and clinched three by decision. Impressively, three of these wins were achieved with first-round finishes, while his sole loss came via submission.
He has primarily fought with Eagles Fighting Championship, where he went 6-0 from 2016 to 2019. So far in Bellator, he has gone 2-0 against quality opponents.
He is currently ranked as the 99
th
best welterweight fighter in the world and the ninth best Europe Balkans welterweight fighter. This is a good opportunity to increase his rank and improve within Bellator.
Roman Faraldo Betting Preview
Feraldo recently had his eight-fight losing streak snapped when he battled Levan Chokheli in Bellator 288. This was back in November of last year, which was a unanimous decision.
He has landed all eight of his wins by knockout so far, with six of them coming in the first round. His recent defeat was his first one, which is arguably not that bad considering it was not an early finish.
“Vicious” went 6-0 in amateur results before turning pro in 2019. Since that time, he has gone 5-1 in Bellator against quality fighters.
His ranking has risen globally to the 104
th
best welterweight fighter. Assuming he does well striking here, he has a great opportunity ahead of him.
Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie showcases their odds for this matchup, with this one being a toss up. Both of their resumes stack up nicely, meaning that the fight could go either way. However, the market is liking Luca Poclit slightly to win here.
Roman Faraldo: -110
Luca Poclit: -126
Poclit did everything well against Enkamp, which eventually led to a decision. This battle is likely going to be a similar showcase of skills, but Feraldo is a threat to win by knockout.
If Feraldo comes out aggressive and keeps the pressure, he will win. If Poclit keeps this fight on the ground, he has the advantage.
As you can see, both fighters have a great shot to win. Overall, this will be close, but look for Poclit to handle himself for the decisive victory.
Spooky Express Pick: Take Luca Poclit to Win at -126
