Bellator 301 Betting Preview: Danny Sabatello vs. Raufeon Slots
November 17, 2023
Bellator 301 has an exciting main card that bettors should tune into, with one example being the rematch bantamweight showdown between sixth-ranked Danny Sabatello and second-ranked Raufeon Stots. The moneyline favorite for this battle is Stots, slightly leading at -145.
Location: Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois
Date: Friday, November 17, 2023
Main Card: 9:00 PM ET
Prelims: 5:00 PM ET
Coverage: Showtime
Danny Sabatello Betting Preview
Sabatello has gone 1-2 in his last three fights against tough competition, with one of those being against Stots. His most recent battle was a first round guillotine choke submission against Magomed Magomedov back at Bellator MMA vs. Rizin 2 in July of this year.
He has earned 14 wins that are composed of three knockouts, five submissions, and six decisions. Six of these 14 wins have been finished in the first round of action. He also has one loss each in those categories.
“The Italian Gangster” had a successful bout in Dana White’s Contender Series. However, Dana White decided not to award him a contract in the UFC and Sabatello has been on a rampage since. He has gone 4-2 in Bellator, with losses against two bantamweights inside the top five rankings.
He is currently ranked as the 45
th
-best bantamweight fighter in the world rankings. While this is great, he will be aiming to regain control in the division and climb back within the top five.
Raufeon Stots Betting Preview
Stots recently had his 11-fight win streak snapped when he put his record against Patchy Mix at Bellator 295 in April of this year. This was a first round knockout and a bit unexpected since Stots was considered a favorite to win.
In his 19 career wins, four each have come by knockout and submission, while 11 have come by decision. Only two of these wins have ended in the first round and his only two defeats have come by knockout.
“Supa” has been great with his time in Bellator, as he has quickly risen to be a top contender going 7-1. Prior to that, he went 3-0 in the Legacy Fighting Alliance. In Bellator, his only blemish was against the current interim champion Patchy Mix.
By current world rankings, he is considered to be the 31
st
-best bantamweight fighter. This is another great opportunity to stand out against a loaded bantamweight field.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie offers odds for this battle, slightly favoring Stots to succeed. In their first meeting, Stots won by a split decision, so expect this to be close.
Danny Sabatello: +115
Raufeon Stots: -145
Stots should be motivated to earn another title shot after previously having a share of the belt. He is up against someone he has already defeated, giving him a slight edge.
Spooky Express Pick: Raufeon Stots to win at -145
