Bellator 301 Betting Preview: Islam Mamedov vs. Killys Mota
November 17, 2023
Bellator 301 features plenty of exciting bouts coming up on Friday, November 17, with one appealing betting opportunity such as Islam Mamedov (22-3-1) and Killys Mota (15-3-0). Mamedov leads the way as the moneyline favorite at -170.
Location: Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois
Date: Friday, November 17, 2023
Main Card: 9:00 PM ET
Prelims: 5:00 PM ET
Coverage: Showtime
Islam Mamedov Betting Preview
Mamedov has gone 2-2 in his last four bouts, with a recent unanimous decision defeat to Sidney Outlaw at Bellator 298 a few months back in August. This snapped his previous two-tight win streak that he obtained with wins over Nick Browne and Zach Zane.
He has primarily obtained his 22 wins through 10 submissions, but also has four knockouts and eight decisions. In 10 of these 22 wins, he has earned the victory in the first round. Looking at his three defeats, two of them have been by decision.
He has not had the most luck in Bellator, as his recent 2-2 stint with the promotion has been lacking. Previously, he has gone 4-0-1 in the PFL and 4-0 in the World Series of Fighting.
However, he has quality wins against notable fighters in Bellator and in other fighting leagues, such as Brent Primus and Natan Schulte. He has also earned the 66
th
rank for best lightweight fighter in the world.
Killys Mota Betting Preview
Mota has been successful in his last three fights, with a recent second round rear-naked choke submission win over Kenneth Cross. This was back at Bellator 294 in April of this year.
He has composed a balanced resume of 15 wins that consist of six knockouts, five submissions, and four decisions. In five of those 15 victories, he has ended the battle in the opening round. Of his three losses, two have been by knockout.
He has gone 4-2 in Bellator so far, with solid wins under his belt. Prior to that, he went 1-1 in Legacy Fighting Alliance and suffered a tough TKO defeat there.
He is currently ranked as the 101
st
-best lightweight fighter in the world. Based on the recent fighters he has defeated, they have not stacked up to the same level as his upcoming opponent.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie is showing that Islam Mamedov is currently a slight favorite to win this fight. Based on recent performance, Mamedov is a more appealing option with wins over stronger competition.
Killys Mota: +142
Islam Mamedov: -170
Mota has shown to have versatility and can land a win anywhere. Mamedov has similar attributes, but he is much more deadly on the ground. Look for Mamedov to potentially end this early with a submission or go long distance and win by decision.
Spooky Express Pick: Islam Mamedov -170
