Bellator 301 Betting Preview: Tim Wilde vs. Mike Hammel
November 17, 2023
Bellator 301 will be on Friday, November 17, with an abundance of great fights such as the lightweight bout between Tim Wilde (11-5-0) and Mike Hamel (16-5-0). Hamel is considered the moneyline favorite to win at -225.
Location: Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois
Date: Friday, November 17, 2023
Main Card: 9:00 PM ET
Prelims: 5:00 PM ET
Coverage: Showtime
Tim Wilde Betting Preview
Wilde has gone 4-0-1 in his last five fights and is currently on a two-fight win streak. His most recent win was a unanimous decision over Christopher Gonzalez at Bellator 296 in May earlier this year.
His fighting resume reveals 16 wins that are composed of six knockouts, one submission, and nine decisions. He has earned five first round finishes out of 16 wins and has two losses each by knockouts and submissions.
“The Experiment” has done well in Bellator so far, as he has gone 4-1-1 against respectable opponents. He has also gone 2-3 in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship and 3-0 in BAMMA.
Wilde is currently the 95
th
-best lightweight fighter in the world. This is a great opportunity to increase his rank and to improve his resume for the next big fight.
Mike Hamel Betting Preview
Hamel has won his last four fights heading into this battle. His most recent victory was a majority draw over Shamil Nikaev back at Bellator 297 in June of this year.
In his 11 wins, he has compiled four knockouts and seven decisions. So far, he has accumulated two first round finishes of those knockouts. Out of his five losses, two have been by decision.
“Magic” had a rough start in Bellator, but has won his last four bouts and is now 4-2 under the promotion. He also made an attempt in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, but was 0-3 in his attempts prior to joining Bellator. Those losses were against solid competition, so that does not bode well for his chances here.
Hamel aims to improve upon his world ranking of 86
th
for the best lightweight fighter. A win would likely move him up some, but a loss would definitely drop him back quite a bit.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie is offering the odds, which reveal that Mike Hammel is a moderate favorite to win. If his odds get too high, you could look to add Hamel to a parlay or choose a prop bet that would give you more bang for your buck.
Tim Wilde: +185
Mike Hamel: -225
Both fighters are close in comparison for their world rankings. Hamel has tough losses to start with Bellator, which were against Adam Borics and Usman Nurmagomedov and arguably tougher than anything Wilde has seen. Overall, Hamel is an appealing option to win this battle, especially by a knockout.
Spooky Express Pick: Mike Hamel to Win at -225
