BMW Championship Betting Preview
The top 50 of the best golfers in the world, according to FedEx Cup Standings, will take place in the second round of playoffs for this tournament. Many top names that typically take as betting favorites will be on the board once again.
Olympia Fields’ North Course is a historic venue, which hosted this event back in 2020. The course is a Par 70 and is roughly 7,360 yards. There are two Par 5’s that go over 600 yards, so golfers with excellent driving capabilities will likely thrive here.
This will be about who has the hot hand and who can be consistently competitive enough to stay on top after several days of tough golf. The last time this event was played here, the winning score was -4, so expect a tough few days.
Golfers with Best Chance to Win
The following golfers have the best chance to win or at least place within the top 10 at the 2023 BMW Championship.
Jon Rahm +900
Rahm won this event back in 2020, but it was ugly for everyone playing in the tournament. He is currently ranked as the third best player in the world and is coming off of a T37 finish at the St. Jude Championship.
Lucas Glover +3300
Glover is firing on all cylinders, as the 43 year old just won back to back events (Wyndham Championship and St. Jude). While he is looking like Scottie Scheffler out here in consistency, can he pull it off for three straight victories?
Scottie Scheffler +750
Scheffler is the best golfer this season and deserves his number one rank. He has finally cooled off and had two straight events where he was outside the top 20. However, Scheffler thrives in tough environments and with the world watching.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
The following moneyline odds from MyBookie show that these top five golfers have the best chance to win the 2023 BMW Championship.
Scottie Scheffler: +750
Rory McIlroy: +750
Jon Rahm: +900
Patrick Cantlay: +1000
Viktor Hovland: +1600
*odds are subject to changes
Patrick Cantlay +1000
Cantlay just had a tough playoff loss against Glover in the St. Jude tournament. He arguably could have won that, but faltered on a bad tee shot to set him up poorly.
He has won this event the last two years, but this was when it was played at the Wilmington Country Club in Delaware. With his consistency and near-win he just had, look for him to potentially land a third straight for this event.
Final Pick: Take Patrick Cantlay to Win at +1000
