The team with the best record in the Eastern Conference will face a team with one of the worst records in the conference when the Boston Celtics travel to Detroit, Michigan, to face the Detroit Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena with the game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM ET. It will air on Bally Sports Detroit and NBC Sports Boston.

The Boston Celtics have already clinched a spot in the 2024 NBA Playoffs and are one of the hottest teams in the NBA as they enter this game on a seven-game winning streak following a 122-119 win at home against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. 

During their winning streak, the Celtics have won six of their last seven games by double-digits and an average margin of 16.57 points per game. Boston also defeated the Detroit Pistons on Monday by a score of 119-94 and has won both games this season by an average margin of 15.5 points per game. However, the Celtics won both meetings this season at home and will be traveling to face the Detroit Pistons for the first time this season, where they have won four straight against the Pistons and have won by an average margin of 9.5 points per game. 

The Boston Celtics will look to make it eight straight wins when they travel to face the Detroit Pistons.

The Detroit Pistons are on a four-game losing streak and have gone 3-8 in March. Their losses in March came by an average margin of 14.75 points per game, including a 25-point road loss against the Boston Celtics on Monday. 

The Pistons have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season and enter this matchup with the second-worst record in the NBA, 12-57. The last four games at home against the Boston Celtics have ended in losses by an average margin of 9.5 points per game; however, three of the previous four were decided by 9 points. 

Detroit will look to end their eight-game losing streak against the Boston Celtics when they host the Celtics at home on Friday evening.

BookMaker lists the Boston Celtics as 13-point favorites on the road against the Detroit Pistons on Friday evening. The Celtics have won eight straight against the Pistons, including the two meetings this season, with the most recent meeting resulting in a 25-point win at home by a score of 119-94. However, in the previous four meetings on the road against the Pistons, the Celtics have only won by an average margin of 9.5 points, with the most recent win in the series being decided by 12 points. 

Boston has the best record in the NBA and has a 10.5-game lead over the Milwaukee Bucks for 1^st place in the Eastern Conference. It will likely be the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference when the NBA Playoffs start, as they only have 13 games left this season. The Celtics have also covered the spread in six of their last seven games; however, in the previous four games on the road against the Pistons, the Celtics have only won by an average margin of 9.5 points, which is why I am taking the points with the Detroit Pistons when they host the Boston Celtics on Friday evening.
