Tyson Fury Betting Preview

Fury (33-0-1) is taking on Ngannou in a boxing vs. MMA clash. This is arguably a cash grab, as he should be overpowered in nearly every aspect. However, there is always a puncher’s chance that Ngannou lands some nasty blows.

Coming into this fight, he beat Derek Chisora by TKO back in December of last year. He has landed knockouts in 72.8 percent of his fights, making him a threat inside the ring.

In his 34 bouts and 220 rounds, he has moved into the third best heavyweight boxer in the world. He is also currently holding the WBC World Heavyweight title, but this will not be on the line for this bout.

Fury is supposed to fight Oleksandr Usyk sometime after this matchup with Ngannou. Assuming no injuries occur from this fight, the two are expected to meet at the end of December. More information will be available after the battle.

Francis Ngannou Betting Preview

Ngannou (17-3-0 MMA) is making his boxing debut against arguably one of the best heavyweight boxers in the world. He will be at a disadvantage due to this being strictly a boxing match, but there is an appeal to his ability to land heavy strikes.

His last battle was a unanimous decision win over Ciryl Gane back in January of last year. This has been quite a long time since any MMA or physical activity, which could play a role here.

“The Predator” was never really a dominant striker in the UFC or MMA overall. While he has tremendous knockout power, he typically landed 2.33 significant strikes a minute. He will be forced to land a lot of strikes here, which is something he is not used to in the MMA world.

Ngannou also has a five-inch reach disadvantage, so look for this to also make an impact. At 37, this is not enough time to refine any skills in boxing despite having a successfully long MMA career.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

MyBookie’s odds show that Tyson Fury is an overwhelming favorite to win this showdown. It makes the most sense to choose Fury based on his history.

  • Francis Ngannou: +606

  • Tyson Fury: -1111

If this fight were only 60 seconds long and Ngannou is forced to deliver a knockout, he might have a shot. However, Fury’s best bet is to drag this out and wear down Ngannou, likely by the fifth round.

Spooky Express Pick: Fury wins but we won't touch it at this price!
