Brooklyn Nets vs. Dallas Mavericks
February 6, 2024
Game one of the doubleheader on TNT on Tuesday will feature the Dallas Mavericks traveling to Brooklyn, New York to face the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center with the game tipping off at 7:30 PM ET.
The Mavericks ended their two-game losing streak on Monday with a 118-102 win on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers which improved their record to 27-23 and put them in 8
th
place in the Western Conference. Dallas has been one of the best offensive teams in the league this season as they enter this game averaging the 9
th
most points per game in the NBA with an average of 118.22 points per game. Luka Doncic has been one of the main reasons for the offensive success the Mavericks have had this year as he leads the team in scoring and assists with an average of 34.8 points, 2
nd
most in the NBA, and 9.6 assists per game while also leading the team in rebounds with an average of 8.6 rebounds per game. However, the Mavericks have been a below-average team defensively as they are allowing an average of 118.84 points per game which is more than the league average of 115.54 points per game. The Dallas Mavericks will look to build off the momentum following the win against the 76ers when they travel to face the Brooklyn Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets enter this game with the 5
th
worst record in the Eastern Conference at 20-29 and are coming off a 98-109 loss at home against the Golden State Warriors on Monday. The Nets have been a slightly above-average team defensively as they are allowing an average of 115.44 points per game, however, they have been a below-average team offensively as they are averaging 114.63 points per game. Mikal Bridges has been one of the better players on the team and leads the team in scoring and steals with an average of 21.9 points and 0.94 steals per game. The Brooklyn Nets will look to bounce back following the loss at home against the Warriors when they host the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday evening.
BookMaker
has the Dallas Mavericks listed as 2-point favorites on the road against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday evening. Dallas has won eight of the previous ten including four straight games against Brooklyn. The teams are 5-5 ATS in the last ten while the Nets have covered the spread in two of the last three games in the series. The Dallas Mavericks are 25-25 ATS overall, 14-9 ATS on the road, and 16-11 ATS as a favorite this season while the Brooklyn Nets are 23-24-2 ATS overall, 14-10-2 ATS at home, and 14-17-2 ATS as an underdog on the year.
Dallas enters this game with a better record and has been the dominant team in the series, winning eight of the last ten including four straight matchups against Brooklyn. The Mavericks have also been the better team at covering the spread this season with a record of 25-25 ATS overall and 16-11 ATS as a favorite while the Nets are 23-24-2 ATS overall and 14-17-2 ATS as an underdog which is why I am laying the points with the Dallas Mavericks when they travel to face the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.
Spooky Express Pick: Dallas Mavericks -2
