Brooklyn Nets vs. Memphis Grizzlies
February 26, 2024
The reeling Brooklyn Nets get set to take on the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night inside the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN. They tip it off at 8:00 pm. The struggling Nets have dropped seven of eight games overall and they are just playing out the string at this point.
Bookmaker
has installed the Nets as a slim 1 1/2 point favorite in a clash between two struggling teams trying to find their way.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
The Nets have been a dismal team to watch all season long and even when they make changes like firing the head coach it still has not helped them at all. They are buried in the bottom of the Atlantic Division, as they find themselves buried deep in the basement of the division.
They have not been able to really put together a string of wins and they do not have a very balanced offensive scoring attack as most teams in the league.
On offense, they are paced by Mikal Bridges who is trying his best to carry the offense. Bridges is averaging around 21 points per game and he is also handing out 3.7 assists while pulling down close to five boards per night. He needs to take over games and it is ok if he attempts 20 plus shots a game.
Overall, Brooklyn is connecting on 54% from the floor and a solid 38% from beyond the arc. Cam Thomas is a solid shooter and has the ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc, as he is draining 35% from three-point land.
Memphis Grizzlies Betting Preview
The Grizzlies have had a ton of issues this season and they too are just playing out the string. They do not have a ton of scoring on offense and will rely on Desmond Bane, who is averaging close to 24 a game but he is also sidelined with an injury. Bane will be missed if he can not go and that means Memphis will have to really pick up the slack on the defensive end of the floor.
The Grizzlies will also see if they can get some scoring from power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. who is a hit or miss at times. He can knock down some shots here and there and can also go dry from the floor too.
Overall, he is scoring 22 a game and he will look to get the ball on the low block which suits him best. Memphis is connecting on close to a solid 51% from the floor.
They need to do a better job of knocking down their deep shots from beyond the arc if they want to get a win against the Nets, who are not as bad on defense as they are on offense. Memohis has been dealing without the services of Ja Morant, who was lost for the season so much of their offense has taken a hit.
Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
Memphis is 2-3 in their last five games and 4-1 in their last five games against the number and a solid 16-13 in their road games against the spread. The totals have gone over in three out of their last five games and a lousy 28 games at home.
The Nets are just 1-4 in their last five games and 1-3 in their last five games against the spread. They are a horrible 9-17 in their road games against the number and the totals have gone over in just one of their last five games.
Spooky Express Pick: Nets - 1.5
