Carolina Panthers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

September 29, 2024

The Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) seek to earn their first win of the season when they take on the Carolina Panthers (1-2) on Sunday, September 29 at 1:00 PM ET at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Check out our Cincinnati Bengals vs. Carolina Panthers betting preview, where the Bengals are favored with a point spread at -5.0 (-110).

Cincinnati Bengals Betting Preview

The Bengals have lost their first three games but have been by margins of six points or less. Their latest defeat was a 38-33 outing against the Washington Commanders, where the Bengals stormed back to make this a tough contest.

Joe Burrow had three touchdowns and 334 yards on 29 of 38 completed passes. Ja'Marr Chase had six receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns to help push the offense down the field.

They were more appealing on paper when it came to yards and first downs. However, they had their outburst a little too late in the game to make the turn for the win. The good news is that they did not commit a turnover in their surge in offense.

The Bengals are averaging 22.7 points per game and rank 13th. Their defense could use some work, as they have allowed 26.7 points per game and rank 26th

Carolina Panthers Betting Preview

The Panthers grabbed their first win of the season with a 36-22 performance over the Las Vegas Raiders. They also started veteran Andy Dalton over Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick last season. Young has yet to throw a touchdown and ranks second to last for his QBR rating at 9.1.

Dalton put up a great performance, posting three touchdowns, 319 yards, and completing 26 of his 37 passes. Chuba Hubbard was also able to turn loose with his 21 carries for 114 yards.

This is the most dominant the Panthers have been all season, as their offense looked much sharper with Dalton under center. They essentially averaged a point a minute on the field, as their offense had possession of the ball right at 36 minutes.

The Panthers have been averaging 16.3 points per game and rank 26th, but keep in mind that their first games were with Young. Defensively, they are allowing 31.7 points per game, which is last in the league.
