The Chicago Bulls get set to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday night inside the United Center in Chicago, IL. They tip it off at 8:00 pm. The Timberwolves have really played well this season and believe they have the roster and talent to make a deep run out of the Western Conference.

The Timberwolves (35-16) have enjoyed a brilliant first half of their season and they look like a very complete team. They can push the pace and the tempo and they have done an outstanding job of defending in the paint.

They are doing a great job on the glass this season as they are hauling down 43.9 boards per contest while scoring around 113 a contest. They are led on offense by Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns -- both have been playing at a very high level this season. 

Edwards is averaging around 25 points per game while grabbing 5.1 boards, while center Rudy Gobert leads all players on the team with 12.5 boards per contest. Anthony Towns contributes 22 a game and has really looked locked in at times this season. 

This 1-2 combination is turning into one the best duos in the league and both have been relatively healthy, which is a huge plus for Minnesota. They know with these two young players on the floor they have a shot to make a run and come out of the Western Conference. 

The Bulls (23-27)have dropped four of six overall and have been dealing with injuries and inconsistent play all season long. They got some horrible news Sunday when it was learned they will be without shooting guard Zach LaVine for the rest of the season. The 28-year-old shooting guard will undergo surgery on his right foot and that will end his season.

It is a major blow to an already struggling offense and now they will lose his 19 points per game to go along with 5.2 rebounds per contest. He plays both ends of the floor and this is a bad loss at a bad time for a young and reeling team.

In his absence, veteran small forward DeMar DeRozan who is netting 22 a game and will clearly have to carry the offensive load going forward.

Chicago on the season connects on 53% from the floor including 35% from beyond the arc. They are a streaky team from the floor and have had issues knocking down open looks. 

The Timberwolves are 3-2 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the number and 12-13 in their road games against the spread.
