The Troy Trojans will travel to Athens, Ohio to face the Ohio Bobcats at the Convocation Center on Wednesday evening with the game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM ET.

Troy has not made the NCAA Tournament since the 2016-17 college basketball season, however, they had a solid season last year despite not making any postseason tournament as the Trojans finished the regular season with a record of 20-13 and a Sun Belt record of 11-7 which led to a tie with the Old Dominion Monarchs for 5^th place in the conference. The Troy Trojans finished the season winning seven of their final nine games which included a win in the 1^st round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament against the Arkansas State Red Wolves, however, the Trojans were eliminated in the 2^nd round of the conference tournament against the James Madison Dukes which also ended their three-game winning streak. The Troy Trojans are projected to finish as the 8^th-best team in the Sun Belt based on the voting of the coaches in the conference and are projected to finish behind the James Madison Dukes, Appalachian State Mountaineers, Old Dominion Monarchs, Southern Miss Golden Eagles, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, South Alabama Jaguars, and the Marshall Thundering Herd.

The Ohio Bobcats finished last season with a record of 19-14 and had a MAC Conference record of 10-8 which led to a 5^th place finish in the conference. Ohio has not made it to the NCAA tournament the previous two seasons. The Bobcats won in their 1^st round matchup in the MAC Conference tournament against the Ball State Cardinals by a score of 90-70 before losing in the semifinals against the top-seeded Toledo Rockets by a score of 75-82. This season the Bobcats are projected to finish as the 3^rd best team in the conference as the coaches from the MAC voted them to finish behind the Akron Zips and the Kent State Golden Flashes. 

BookMaker has the Ohio Bobcats listed as 9.5-point favorites at home against the Troy Trojans on Wednesday evening. This will be the first time in the history of these two programs that they will face each other in college basketball. 

The Troy Trojans have already won one game this season which came on Monday against the Fort Lauderdale Eagles by a score of 92-47. However, this game will be a much tougher hurdle as the Ohio Bobcats are projected to be one of the best teams in the MAC Conference while the Trojans are projected to be one of the worst teams in the Sun Belt. Ohio is the more talented team in this contest and should have no problem handling a team that just played a game on Monday and may not be fully rested heading into this matchup. With the game being at home for the Ohio Bobcats and being the more talented team, I will be buying the .5 point and laying the points with the Ohio Bobcats when they host the Troy Trojans on Wednesday evening.
