The Akron Zips will travel to Oxford, Ohio to face the East Division-leading Miami-Ohio RedHawks on Wednesday evening at the Fred C. Yager Stadium with the game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM ET on ESPNU in week 11 of the college football season.

Akron finally ended their six-game losing streak last week when they defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes by a score of 31-27, however, the Zips will not make a bowl game as they have an overall record of 2-7 which includes going 1-4 in conference play which will also make it the 6^th year in a row in which the Zips failed to qualify for a bowl game after winning the MAC Conference in 2017. The Akron Zips were able to cover the 3.5-point spread as a home favorite last week against the Kent State Golden Flashes with the passing game playing a pivotal part with Daniel George and Jasaiah Gathings playing a major part in the passing game combining for 18 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns in the win against the Kent State Golden Flashes.

The Miami-Ohio WarHawks have been the best team in the East Division of the MAC Conference as they enter this matchup with an overall record of 7-2 which includes a 4-1 record in conference play and have already defeated two of the three teams that are tied for 2^nd place in the division with a 27-0 win against the Bowling Green Falcons and a 30-16 win against the Ohio Bobcats in week 9 of the college football season. The WarHawks covered the spread against the Bobcats as well on the road as they were 7.5-point underdogs but won the game outright thanks in large part to Rashad Amos who had 21 carries in the game for 163 yards and a touchdown.

Miami-Ohio has won six of the last ten and has dominated the series since 2017 as they have won the last six matchups in a row. The Zips are 6-4 ATS in the last ten while the RedHawks are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Akron Zips are 3-5-1 ATS overall, 3-2 ATS on the road, 3-3 ATS as an underdog, and 1-3-1 ATS in conference games this season while the Miami-Ohio WarHarks are 7-2 ATS overall, 2-1 ATS at home, 5-0 ATS as a favorite, and 4-1 ATS in conference games on the year.

Not only have the Miami-Ohio WarHawks been one of the best teams in the MAC this season with a record of 4-1 in conference play and an overall record of 7-2 but they have also been the best team in the conference at covering the spread on the year going 7-2 ATS overall and have covered the spread in every game they have been a favorite going 5-0 ATS as a favorite. I look for the RedHawks to make it seven wins in a row against the Akron Zips while also covering the 17.5-point spread which is why I am buying the .5 point and laying the points with the RedHawks when they host the Zips in week 11 of the college football season.
