The 2023 Iron Bowl will take place on Saturday afternoon in week 13 of the college football season when the 8^th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide travel to face the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium with the game scheduled to start at 3:30 PM ET and will air on CBS.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are still in the college football playoff hunt, however, they will need to win this game and the SEC Championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs to have a realistic chance of making the playoffs. Alabama enters this game on a nine-game winning streak following their loss against the Texas Longhorns in week 2 at home and is coming off a 66-10 win at home against the Chattanooga Mocs last week. Jalen Milroe looked abysmal at the beginning of the season, however, he has shown that he is one of the better quarterbacks in college football for the majority of the season as he enters this game having completed 142 of 214 attempts for 2,267 yards with 19 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 332 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Crimson Tide will be looking to make it four straight wins in the Iron Bowl when they travel to face the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn has shown a lot of improvement in year one under head coach, Hugh Freeze, as they will be going to a bowl game after not becoming bowl-eligible last season. The Tigers enter this game with a record of 6-5, however, they are coming off an embarrassing loss at home against the New Mexico State Aggies by a score of 10-31 which was also the 2^nd most points their defense has allowed this season outside of the LSU game in which they allowed 48 points. New Mexico State almost had double the amount of offensive yards as Auburn as Auburn only has 209 total yards offensively while New Mexico State had 414. The Tigers will be looking to avoid a two-game losing streak and a 4^th straight loss in the Iron Bowl in week 13 of the college football season.
