College Football Betting Preview: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Kentucky Wildcats

November 11, 2023

The 8th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will travel to Lexington, Kentucky to face the Kentucky Wildcats at Kroger Field in an SEC matchup that will take place on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM ET and will air on ESPN.

Alabama only needs to beat the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday and if they do they will have a matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2023 SEC Championship game in Atlanta, Georgia. The Crimson Tide is not as talented as teams in the past, however, they are still winning games and enter this game with a record of 8-1 and are on a seven-game winning streak following their loss at home against the Texas Longhorns in week 2 of the college football season and are coming off back-to-back wins against two Top 25 teams in the SEC with wins at home against the Tennessee Volunteers by a score of 34-20 and at home against the LSU Tigers by a score of 42-28 while covering the 3-point spread as a home favorite. If the Alabama Crimson Tide win on Saturday against the Kentucky Wildcats they will make their 7th SEC Championship game in the last nine years.

The Kentucky Wildcats looked like they may challenge for the SEC East division at the beginning of the season as they started the season with a record of 5-0, however, since the end of September, the Wildcats have lost three of their last four games but finally ended their three-game losing streak last week with a win on the road against the Mississippi State Bulldogs while covering the 5.5-point spread as a road favorite with the win also making the Wildcats bowl eligible for the 8th year in a row, however, they will have a tough time this week when they host the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday afternoon.

BookMaker has the Alabama Crimson Tide listed as 11-point favorites on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday afternoon in week 11 of the college football season. Alabama has won eight of the nine games all-time including the previous seven games meetings while going 5-4 ATS all-time and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Alabama Crimson Tide are 6-3 ATS overall, 2-1 ATS on the road, 6-3 ATS as a favorite, and 5-1 ATS in conference games this season while the Kentucky Wildcats are 5-4 ATS overall, 3-3 ATS at home, 0-2 ATS as an underdog, and 3-3 ATS in conference games on the year.

Alabama has been one of the best teams over the last two decades in the SEC and is on its way to its 7th SEC Championship game appearance in the last nine years. Despite Alabama looking inconsistent in a lot of their games this season, they have been the best team at covering the spread in their conference games going 5-1 ATS in conference play while the Wildcats are 3-3 ATS in their conference games. The Crimson Tide have also been the better team at covering the spread in the series, going 5-4 ATS all-time and 2-1 ATS in the last three contests. Lay the points with the Alabama Crimson Tide when they travel to face the Kentucky Wildcats in week 11 of the college football season.
