The Ball State Cardinals will travel to DeKalb, Illinois to face the Northern Illinois Huskies on Tuesday evening at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM ET and the game airing on the CBS Sports Network in week 11 of the college football season.

Ball State has already been eliminated from bowl game contention as they enter this game with a record of 2-7, however, their last three games this season have been decided by seven points or less including last week’s loss on the road against the Bowling Green Falcons by a score of 21-24. The game was closely contested as the score was tied 14-14 heading into the 4^th quarter, however, the Falcons kicked the game-winning field goal with 3:14 left in the 4^th quarter. Even though the Cardinals lost, Ball State was able to cover the 5-point spread as a road underdog in week 10. The running game for the Cardinals kept them in the game as Marquez Cooper and Kiael Kelly combined for 180 yards with three touchdowns on 44 carries.

The Northern Illinois Huskies are unlikely to play for the MAC Championship game this season even though they are tied with the Central Michigan Chippewas 2^nd place in the West Division as they have already lost to both Central Michigan and the division-leading Toledo Rockets this season. However, they are still in contention for a bowl game with a record of 4-5 but have to win two of their remaining games to qualify for a bowl. The Huskies saw their three-game winning streak come to an end when they lost last week against the Central Michigan Chippewas by a score of 31-34 while also failing to cover the 6.5-point spread as a road favorite. The passing game for the Huskies still looked impressive in the loss as Rocky Lombardi threw for 288 yards with three touchdowns and an interception while Trayvon Rudolph had a monster game with eight receptions for 177 yards and a touchdown.

Given the struggles for Ball State this season as they enter this game having only won two games, I look for the Huskies to come away with an easy victory which is why I am laying the points with the Northern Illinois Huskies in this matchup.
