College Football Betting Preview: Buffalo Bulls vs. Ohio Bobcats

November 7, 2023

Two MAC teams will face each other on Tuesday night in week 11 of the college football season when the Ohio Bobcats travel to Buffalo, New York to face the Buffalo Bulls at UB Stadium with the game scheduled to start at 7:30 PM ET and airing on ESPN 2.

The Ohio Bobcats are still alive for the MAC Championship game, however, they will need some help as the Bobcats lost in week 9 of the college football season to the division-leading Miami-Ohio RedHawks and are 1.5 games behind them in the standings because of the loss. The game wasn’t close against the RedHawks as the Bobcats were defeated by a score of 16-30 and failed to cover the 7.5-point spread as a home favorite in the contest. Ohio looked good in the 1st quarter as they led the game 9-0, however, they allowed 30 unanswered points before scoring another touchdown midway through the 4th quarter. Kuris Rourke had a solid performance in the matchup as he completed 25 of 39 attempts for 313 yards and a touchdown.

After making a bowl game last season, the Buffalo Bulls have struggled this season as they started the season off 0-4 and have lost two of their last three games including last week’s loss on the road against the Toledo Rockets by a score of 13-31 to drop to 3-6 this season and will need to win their remaining games if they have any hope of qualifying for a bowl game this season. The Bulls were a 14.5-point underdog in the matchup against the Rockets but failed to cover the spread as they lost the game by 13 points despite being +2 in the turnover battle. The passing game struggled in the loss as Cole Snyder was only able to complete 14 of 41 attempts for 151 yards and threw two interceptions and only one touchdown in the game against Toledo.

BookMaker has the Ohio Bobcats listed as 7-point favorites on the road against the Buffalo Bulls on Tuesday night in week 11 of the college football season. Ohio has won six of the last ten and two of the last three meetings. Both teams are 5-5 ATS in the last ten while the Bobcats are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Ohio Bobcats are 4-5 ATS overall, 2-2 ATS on the road, 2-4 ATS as a favorite, and 2-3 ATS in conference games this season while the Buffalo Bulls are 5-4 ATS overall, 1-3 ATS at home, 4-2 ATS as an underdog, and 3-2 ATS in conference games on the year.

Despite having a losing record, the Buffalo Bulls have been an above-average team at covering the spread this season going 5-4 ATS overall, and have gone 4-2 ATS as an underdog while Ohio has struggled to cover the spread this season going 4-5 ATS overall including 2-4 ATS as a favorite. Ohio may have the better record, however, I don’t expect them to cover the spread on the road which is why I am taking the points with the Buffalo Bulls when they host the Bobcats on Tuesday night.
