College Football Betting Preview: Colorado Buffaloes vs Washington St Cougars

November 17, 2023

A battle in the Pac-12 will take place on Friday night in week 12 of the college football season when the Colorado Buffaloes travel to Pullman, Washington to face the Washington State Cougars at Clarence D. Martin Stadium with the game scheduled to kickoff at 10:30 PM ET and will air on Fox Sports 1.

The Colorado Buffaloes were the talk of college football early on in the season as they started the year off 3-0 which included a win on the road against the TCU Horned Frogs in week 1 by a score of 45-42, however, since their 3-0 start, the Buffaloes have only won one game in their last seven matchups and are on a four-game losing streak following a 31-34 loss at home against the Arizona Wildcats while covering the 8-point spread as a home underdog. Colorado has to win their next two games or they will not qualify for a bowl game under 1st-year head coach, Deion Sanders, and will miss a bowl game for the 3rd season in a row. The Buffaloes have made improvements this season as they have won four games which is three more than they won last season. Their offense has also been above-average this season as they enter this game averaging 30.7 points per game and Shedeur Sanders has played a pivotal role in the resurgence offensively for the Buffaloes as he has completed 292 of 421 attempts for 3,144 yards with 26 touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing for four touchdowns.

Washington State, like Colorado, was looking like one of the better teams in the Pac-12 at the beginning of the season as the Cougars started the season off 4-0 which included wins at home against the Wisconsin Badgers by a score of 31-22 and the Oregon State Beavers by a score of 38-35. However, since the win at home against the Oregon State Beavers in week 4 of the college football season, the Washington State Cougars have not won a game as they enter this matchup on a six-game losing streak which includes last week’s 39-42 loss on the road against the Cal Bears and are in desperate need of a win as they have to win their final two games this season to make a bowl game for the 3rd win in a row. The defense for Washington State has struggled this season as they enter this game allowing an average of 29.9 points per game and will now have to face one of the better offenses in college football this season when they host the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday night.
