A pair of ACC rivals will face each other on Thursday night when the Wake Forest Demon Deacons travel to Durham, North Carolina to face the Duke Blue Devils at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium with the game airing at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons enter this game with a record of 4-4 following a 16-41 loss at home against the Florida State Seminoles while failing to cover the 21-point spread as a home underdog in week 9 of the college football season. Wake Forest scored 16 points while compiling a total of 210 yards offensively which included 82 passing yards and 128 rushing yards while allowing 41 points and 508 total yards defensively which included 382 passing yards and 126 rushing yards. Mitch Griffis led the team in passing, completing 6 of 16 attempts for 82 yards while rushing for three yards. Justice Ellison led the team in rushing with ten carries for 77 yards. Jahmal Banks led the team in receiving, catching four of nine targets for 43 yards.

Duke enters this game with a record of 5-3 and is on a two-game losing streak following a 0-23 shutout loss on the road against the Louisville Cardinals while failing to cover the 5-point spread as a road underdog in week 9 of the college football season. The Blue Devils were shut out while compiling a total of 202 yards offensively which included 151 passing yards and 51 rushing yards while allowing 23 points and 351 total yards defensively which included 117 passing yards and 234 rushing yards. Riley Leonard led the team in passing, completing 9 of 23 attempts for 121 yards and an interception while rushing for 13 yards on 10 attempts. Jordan Waters led the team in rushing with five carries for 23 yards. Jordan Moore led the team in receiving, catching six of 12 targets for 92 yards.

Duke has won six of the last ten while Wake Forest has won two of the last three meetings. The Blue Devils are 6-4 ATS in the last ten while the Demon Deacons are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are 3-5 ATS overall, 1-2 ATS on the road, 2-2 ATS as an underdog, and 2-3 ATS in conference games this season while the Duke Blue Devils are 4-4 ATS overall, 3-2 ATS at home, 3-1 ATS as a favorite, and 2-2 ATS in conference games on the year.

Duke is the better team this season, however, Wake Forest has been the better team most recently in the series, winning two of the last three meetings while going 2-1 ATS in those contests. I look for the Blue Devils to get the win, however, given last week’s struggles I don’t see them covering the 13-point spread which is why I am taking the points with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in week 10 of the college football season.
