The UTEP Miners will travel to Miami, Florida to take on the Florida International Panthers in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM from Riccardo Silva Stadium in a battle of two Conference USA teams.

The UTEP Miners enter this game with a record of 1-5 and have lost their previous four matchups in a row following a 10-24 loss at home against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs while failing to cover the 2-point spread as a home underdog in week 6 of the college football season. Florida International enters this game with a record of 3-3 and is on a two-game losing streak following a 17-34 loss on the road against the New Mexico State Aggies while failing to cover the 6.5-point spread as a road underdog in week 6 of the college football season. The Panthers scored 17 points while compiling a total of 405 yards offensively which included 318 passing yards and 87 rushing yards while allowing 34 points and 439 total yards defensively which included 256 passing yards and 183 rushing yards. Diego Pavia led the team in passing, completing 20 of 31 attempts for 256 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while adding 46 rushing yards and a touchdown.
