College Football Betting Preview: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Ole Miss Rebels

November 11, 2023

Arguably the best game in week 11 of the college football season will happen in the SEC when the 9th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels travel to Athens, Georgia to face the 2nd-ranked Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium on Saturday evening with the game airing nationally on ESPN.

Ole Miss is still alive for the SEC West Championship with a record of 8-1, however, if they lose this game then the Alabama Crimson Tide will be the SEC West Champions in 2023 as the Rebels lost to the Crimson Tide by a score of 10-24 earlier this season. However, the Ole Miss Rebels are having one of their best seasons in recent years as they enter this game ranked 9th in the College Football Playoff Rankings with a record of 8-1 and an SEC record of 5-1 while also being on a five-game winning streak following last week’s 38-35 win at home against the Texas A&M Aggies, however, they will have a much tougher time on the road this week when they travel to face the Georgia Bulldogs.

With a win in this game, the Georgia Bulldogs will not only be the SEC East Champions this year but they will set the date for the SEC Championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Atlanta as with an Ole Miss loss the Crimson Tide will be crowned the SEC West Champions. The Bulldogs have not lost a game in 25 matchups dating back to the 2021 SEC Championship game against the Alabama Crimson Tide and are the two-time defending National Champions in college football. Georgia enters this game ranked 2nd in the College Football Playoff Rankings only behind the Ohio State Buckeyes and is coming off an impressive win at home against the Missouri Tigers by a score of 30-21 but failed to cover the 14-point spread at home.

BookMaker has the Georgia Bulldogs listed as 10.5-point favorites at home against the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday evening in week 11 of the college football season. Georgia has won nine of the last ten and two of the last three meetings while going 6-4 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Ole Miss Rebels are 6-2-1 ATS overall, 2-1 ATS on the road, 1-1 ATS as an underdog, and 3-2-1 ATS in conference games this season while the Georgia Bulldogs are 2-6-1 ATS overall, 1-4-1 ATS at home, 2-6-1 ATS as a favorite, and 2-4 ATS in conference games on the year.

Georgia has been one of the most dominant teams in college football history over the past three seasons and looks like they are headed to another college football playoff appearance. However, they have struggled to cover the spread this season as they are 2-6-1 ATS overall and 2-4 ATS in their conference games. The Rebels have been one of the best teams in the SEC at covering the spread going 6-2-1 ATS overall. I look for Georgia to get the win, however, I am buying the .5 point and taking the points with the Ole Miss Rebels in this matchup in week 11 of the college football season.
