College Football Betting Preview: Georgia St Panthers vs. LSU Tigers
November 18, 2023
The Georgia State Panthers will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to face the 15
th
-ranked LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night in week 12 of the college football season with the game scheduled to start at 8:00 PM ET and will air on ESPN 2.
Georgia State looked as though they were going to be one of the best teams in the Sun Belt Conference this season as they started the year with a record of 6-1, however, since starting 6-1, the Panthers have gone on a three-game losing streak and have been outscored by their opponents 55-128 during the losing streak which includes a 14-42 loss at home against the Appalachian State Mountaineers last week. However, the Panthers will be going to a bowl game this season as they already have six wins which will make it the first time since the 2021 season in which they will be participating in a bowl. However, they will be facing their toughest opponent this season in “Death Valley” when they face the LSU Tigers on Saturday night.
The LSU Tigers had high expectations entering the season, however, they lost their first game of the year against the Florida State Seminoles and have gone 5-2 in conference play with losses against the Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 28-42 on the road and on the road against the Ole Miss Rebels by a score of 49-55. However, LSU has been one of the most explosive teams not only in the SEC but in college football as well as they enter this game averaging the 2
nd
most points per game with an average of 45.9 points per game. Jayden Daniels has been the best offensive weapon in the SEC this season as he enters this game having completed 195 of 273 attempts for 3,164 yards with 30 touchdowns and four interceptions while also leading the team in rushing with 918 yards and eight touchdowns and has been a pivotal part of the success the Tigers have had offensively and should get a Heisman invite to the 2023 Heisman Trophy Ceremony.
BookMaker has the LSU Tigers listed as 32-point favorites at home against the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday night in week 12 of the college football season. This will be the first time in the history of these two programs that they will face each other in college football. The Georgia State Panthers are 5-5 ATS overall, 3-1 ATS on the road, and 2-2 ATS as an underdog this season while the LSU Tigers are 6-4 ATS overall, 4-1 ATS at home, and 4-2 ATS as a favorite on the year.
LSU is the superior team in terms of talent and has been one of the best teams in college football at covering the spread at home as they are 4-1 ATS at home this season and 4-2 ATS as a favorite while Georgia State is 2-2 ATS as an underdog. The Tigers will be playing at home at night and “Death Valley” at night is one of the most difficult stadiums for opposing teams to win at. The LSU Tigers will get the win and will get the cover because of their offensive play which is why I am laying the points with the Tigers when they host the Panthers on Saturday night.
Spooky Express Pick: LSU Tigers -32
