Two 1-0 teams will face off on Saturday, as the Troy Trojans travel to Manhattan, Kansas and take on the Kansas State Wildcats.  Gametime is 12:00 PM ET on FS1. 

The Troy Trojans started the 2023 college football season off with a win at home against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, an FCS school, by a score of 48-30, however, the Trojans failed to cover the spread as a 26-point favorite at home in week 1 of the college football season. Troy scored 48 points while compiling 546 total yards offensively which included 200 passing yards and 346 passing yards while allowing 30 points and allowing 240 total yards defensively which included 136 passing yards and 104 rushing yards. 

Gunnar Watson led the team in passing completing 13 of 21 attempts for 200 yards with 4 touchdowns and an interception. Kimani Vidal led the team in rushing with 25 carries for 248 yards while also leading the team in receiving, catching both targets for 54 yards.

The Kansas State Wildcats won in week 1 of the college football season at home against the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks by a score of 45-0 and covered the 28.5-point spread as a favorite at home. The Wildcats scored 45 points while compiling 588 total yards offensively which included 360 passing yards and 228 passing yards while shutting out the Redhawks and allowing 227 total yards defensively which included 221 passing yards and 6 rushing yards. 

Will Howard led the team in passing completing 18 of 26 attempts for 297 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while adding five rushing yards and a touchdown. DJ Giddens led the team in rushing with 15 carries for 128 yards. RJ Garcia II led the team in receiving, catching five of seven targets for 119 yards and a touchdown.

BookMaker has the Kansas State Wildcats listed as 15.5-point favorites at home against the Troy Trojans in week 2 of the college football season. The teams have only played one other time before this matchup which occurred in 2003 and resulted in a 41-5 win at home for the Kansas State Wildcats, however, the Troy Trojans covered the spread as a 38.5-point underdog. 

The Troy Trojans are 0-1 ATS this season after finishing last season with a record of 12-2 ATS overall, 4-2 ATS on the road, and 4-2 ATS as an underdog while the Kansas State Wildcats are 1-0 ATS overall, 1-0 ATS at home, and 1-0 ATS as a favorite this season after finishing last season with a record of 10-4 ATS overall, 5-2 ATS at home, and 7-1 ATS as a favorite.

Kansas State is a better team this season and should have no problem beating the Troy Trojans at home in week 2 of the college football season. The Troy Trojans struggled against an FCS opponent in the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks last week and failed to cover the spread as a 26-point favorite while the Wildcats had no trouble putting away an inferior opponent shutting out the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks by a score of 45-0 and covering the spread as a 28.5-point favorite. 

I look for that to once again be the case this week as I will be buying the .5 point and taking the Kansas State Wildcats -15 at home against the Troy Trojans in week 2 of the college football season on BookMaker.
