College Football Betting Preview: Louisville Cardinals vs. Miami Hurricanes

November 18, 2023

Two ACC teams will be featured on the early Saturday afternoon game on ABC in week 12 of the college football season when the 10th-ranked Louisville Cardinals travel to Miami Gardens, Florida to face the Miami Hurricanes at the Hard Rock Stadium with the game kicking off at 12:00 PM ET.

With a win, the Louisville Cardinals will face the Florida State Seminoles in the ACC Championship game, and will be the first time the Louisville Cardinals have played in the ACC Championship since joining the conference. The Cardinals enter this game with a record of 9-1 which includes a record of 6-1 in the ACC and are on a three-game winning streak since losing to the Pittsburgh Panthers on the road by a score of 21-38 which was their only loss this season and are coming off a 31-24 win at home against the Virginia Cavaliers. Louisville features a high-scoring offense that is averaging 32.7 points per game while having an above-average scoring defense that is tied for the 12th fewest points per game with an average of 17.1 points per game.

The Miami Hurricanes will be going to a bowl game this season after missing bowl season last year as they enter this game with a record of 6-4, however, they are on a two-game losing streak following Saturday’s 20-27 loss on the road against their in-state rival, the Florida State Seminoles, Miami’s defense has been solid for the majority of the season as they enter this game allowing an average of 20.7 points per game, however, their offense has been inconsistent this season as they were averaging 43.75 points per game in their first four games this season and have only averaged 22.33 points per game over their last six games while losing four of those contests.

BookMaker has the Louisville Cardinals listed as 1-point favorites on the road against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon in week 12 of the college football season. The teams are 3-3 all-time in the series while Miami has won two of the last three contests. The Cardinals are 4-2 ATS all-time while the Hurricanes are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Louisville Cardinals are 5-5 ATS overall, 0-2 ATS on the road, 4-5 ATS as a favorite, and 3-4 ATS in conference games this season while the Miami Hurricanes are 5-5 ATS overall, 3-3 ATS at home, 3-1 ATS as an underdog, and 2-4 ATS in conference games on the year.

Louisville has been one of the best teams in the ACC, despite having lost to the Pittsburgh Panthers, and with a win they will be playing in the ACC Championship game against the Florida State Seminoles for the first time since joining the conference. The Cardinals have been the better team at covering the spread in the series going 4-2 ATS all-time against the Hurricanes which is why I am taking the moneyline for the Louisville Cardinals at -108 when they travel to face the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon.

Spooky Express Pick: Louisville Cardinals Moneyline (-108)
