College Football Betting Preview: LSU Tigers vs. Texas A&M Aggies

November 25, 2023

Two SEC West rivals will square off against each other on Saturday afternoon when the Texas A&M Aggies travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to face the 15th-ranked LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium with the game kicking off at 12:00 PM on Saturday afternoon in week 13 of the college football season and will air on ESPN.

The Texas A&M Aggies have been one of the most disappointing teams this season as they enter this game with a record of 7-4 and fired their head coach, Jimbo Fisher, after their game at home against the Mississippi State Bulldogs even though they won the games 51-10. The Aggies are on a two-game winning streak following a 38-10 win at home against the Abilene Christian Wildcats last week. The scoring offense for Texas A&M has been above average this season as they enter this game averaging 34.55 points per game and have a well-balanced offense that has been above average in the running and passing game. However, after two weeks against inferior opponents, they will face a Top 25 team when they travel to face the LSU Tigers in week 13 of the college football season.

Overall the LSU Tigers have been a slightly disappointing team this season, however, they have one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season, Jayden Daniels, who has been their leading passer and leading runner as he enters this game having completed 220 of 303 attempts for 3,577 yards with 36 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 1,014 yards and ten touchdowns. Daniels’s success has led the Tigers to having the highest-scoring offense in college football this season as they are averaging 46.82 points per game. Jayden Daniels will need another big game if he is going to win the Heisman as this will be the last game for the Tigers before the Heisman Trophy Ceremony while Bo Nix may be playing in the Pac-12 Championship. I expect a monster game from Jayden Daniels when the Tigers host the Aggies on Saturday afternoon.

BookMaker has the LSU Tigers listed as 11.5-point favorites at home against the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday afternoon in week 13 of the college football season. LSU has won seven of the last ten while Texas A&M has won two of the last three meetings. The Tigers are 9-1 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Texas A&M Aggies are 5-5-1 ATS overall, 0-2-1 ATS on the road, 0-2-1 ATS as an underdog, and 3-3-1 ATS in conference games while the LSU Tigers are 7-4 ATS overall, 5-1 ATS at home, 7-3 ATS as a favorite, and 4-3 ATS in conference games on the year.

LSU enters this game with a better record and has dominated the series against Texas A&M having won seven of the last ten while going 9-1 ATS in those matchups. The Tigers have also been the better team at covering the spread this season as they are 7-4 ATS overall and 5-1 ATS at home while the Aggies are 5-5-1 ATS overall and 0-2-1 ATS on the road. As a result, I am buying the .5 point and laying the points with the LSU Tigers in this SEC matchup.
