A pair of Conference USA rivals will face each other on Wednesday night when the New Mexico State Aggies travel to El Paso, Texas to face the UTEP Miners at the Sun Bowl with the game airing on ESPN 2 at 9:00 PM ET in week 8 of the college football season.

The New Mexico State Aggies enter this game with a record of 4-3 following a 27-13 win at home against the Sam Houston State Bearkats while covering the 3.5-point spread as a home favorite in week 7 of the college football season. New Mexico State scored 27 points while compiling a total of 458 yards offensively which included 286 passing yards and 172 rushing yards while allowing 13 points and 367 total yards defensively which included 285 passing yards and 82 rushing yards. Diego Pavia led the team in passing, completing 20 of 36 attempts for 286 yards and two touchdowns while also leading the team in rushing with 115 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts. Trent Hudson led the team in receiving, catching three of four targets for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

UTEP enters this game with a record of 2-4 following a 27-14 win on the road against the Florida International Panthers while covering the 3.5-point spread as a road underdog by winning the game outright in week 7 of the college football season. The Miners scored 27 points while compiling a total of 441 yards offensively which included 302 passing yards and 139 rushing yards while allowing 14 points and 363 total yards defensively which included 272 passing yards and 91 rushing yards. Cade McConnell led the team in passing, completing 11 of 17 attempts for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Torrance Burgess Jr. led the team in rushing with 20 carries for 86 yards. Kelly Akharaiyi led the team in receiving, catching eight of ten targets for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

I look for those trends to continue which is why I am buying the .5 point and taking the New Mexico State Aggies -2 when they travel to take on their conference rival on Wednesday night.
