College Football Betting Preview: Tulane Green Wave vs. UTSA Roadrunners
November 24, 2023
The best game in the AAC in week 13 of the college football season will take place on Friday afternoon when the UTSA Roadrunners travel to New Orleans, Louisiana to face the 24
-ranked Tulane Green Wave at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium with the game scheduled to start at 3:30 PM ET and will air on ABC.
The UTSA Roadrunners enter this matchup in a three-way tie with the SMU Mustangs and the UTSA Roadrunners for 1
place in the AAC with a record of 8-3 which includes a record of 7-0 in the AAC. The Roadrunners are on a seven-game winning streak following a 49-21 win at home against the South Florida Bulls last week while covering the 14.5-point spread as a home favorite. The success that UTSA has had this season can be attributed to their explosive offense as they enter this game averaging 33.09 points per game and feature one of the best running offenses in college football as they are averaging 174.64 rushing yards per game. Kevorian Barnes and Robert Henry are one of the best running back duos in college football as they enter this game combining for 1125 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns this season. The Roadrunners will be looking to lock up a spot in the AAC Championship game in this matchup as with a win they will be at least Co-AAC regular season champions.
Tulane will be looking to go to their 2
AAC Championship game in a row with a win in the matchup against the UTSA Roadrunners on Friday afternoon. The Green Wave enter this matchup tied for 1
place in the AAC with the SMU Mustangs and the UTSA Roadrunners as all three teams are 7-0 in the conference while the Tulane Green Wave are 10-1 overall and are riding a nine-game winning streak following a 24-8 win on the road against the Florida Atlantic Owls. The success that Tulane has had this season can be attributed to their scoring defense as they enter this matchup allowing an average of 18.55 points per game which is the 18
fewest points allowed per game this season.
BookMaker has the Tulane Green Wave listed as 3-point favorites at home against the UTSA Roadrunners. These teams have only played one other time before this matchup which occurred in 2013 and resulted in a 10-7 win for the UTSA Roadrunners while Tulane covered the 9.5-point spread as a road underdog. The UTSA Roadrunners are 5-6 ATS overall, 2-3 ATS on the road, 0-1 ATS as an underdog, and 5-2 ATS in conference games this season while the Tulane Green Wave are 4-7 ATS overall, 1-5 ATS at home, 4-6 ATS as a favorite, and 2-5 ATS in conference games on the year.
Both teams are two of the best teams in the AAC and the winner of the game will be playing in the conference championship game. However, UTSA has been the better team at covering the spread in their conference games as they have a record of 5-2 ATS in conference games while Tulane is 2-5 ATS in conference games and 1-5 ATS at home. I look for the offense of the Roadrunners to be too much for Tulane to overcome which is why I am taking the points with the UTSA Roadrunners when they travel to face the Tulane Green Wave on Friday afternoon.
Spooky Express Pick: UTSA Roadrunners +3
