College Football Betting Preview: Washington Huskies vs. Utah Utes

November 11, 2023

The best game in the Pac-12 in week 11 of the college football season will feature the 18th-ranked Utah Utes traveling to Seattle, Washington to face the Washington Huskies at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 PM ET and the game will air nationally on Fox on Saturday afternoon.

The Utah Utes are still alive for a spot in the Pac-12 Championship game and have made the Pac-12 Championship game in each of the four consecutive seasons, with the Covid year not counting, and have won the Pac-12 Championship for the last two seasons, however, they will need help making it this season as they enter this game with an overall record of 7-2 and have a Pac-12 Conference record of 4-2 which puts them in a tie for 4th place in the conference. The Utes bounced back from a disappointing loss at home against the Oregon Ducks by defeating the Arizona State Sun Devils by a score of 55-3 last week while covering the 10.5-point spread as a home favorite. The Utes scored 55 points and outgained the Sun Devils 522 to 83 total yards offensively with their rushing game playing a pivotal part as they had 361 rushing yards in the win against Arizona State.

Washington is on the outside of the Top 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings, however, they sit at 5th in the rankings, and with Ohio State and Michigan still having to play each other there’s a good chance for the Huskies to make the playoffs if they can win out and win the Pac-12 Championship game. This has been the best year the Huskies have had in recent memory as they enter this game with an overall record of 9-0 and have a Pac-12 conference record of 6-0 following last week’s 52-42 win on the road against the USC Trojans. Michael Penix has played a pivotal role in the success of the Washington Huskies this season as he enters this game having completed 225 of 325 attempts for 3,201 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions and is the favorite to win the Heisman entering week 11 as he is +150 to accomplish that feat.

BookMaker has the Washington Huskies listed as 9.5-point favorites at home against the Utah Utes on Saturday afternoon in week 11 of the college football season. Washington has won seven of the nine games all-time and two of the last three games. The Utes are 5-4 ATS all-time and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Utah Utes are 5-3-1 ATS overall, 1-1-1 ATS on the road, 1-2 ATS as an underdog, and 4-2 ATS in conference games this season while the Washington Huskies are 4-4-1 ATS overall, 2-2-1 ATS at home, 4-4-1 ATS as a favorite, and 2-3-1 ATS in conference games on the year.

Washington is the better team this season and has demonstrated they are the better team in the series by winning seven of the nine games all-time and two of the last three matchups. However, the Utes are 5-4 ATS all-time and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series while also being one of the best teams in the Pac-12 at covering the spread in conference play going 4-2 ATS in their conference games while Washington has struggled to cover the spread in their conference games going 2-3-1 ATS I look for those trends to continue which is why I am buying the .5 point and taking the Utah Utes with the points on Saturday afternoon.

Spooky Express Pick: Utah Utes +10
