August 22, 2023
Luis Pajuelo and Robbie Ring square off for the opening bout in Dana White's Contender Series Week 3 of battles. Check out this featherweight showdown for an exciting matchup, as well as a great betting opportunity to kick off the night of fights.
Location: UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada
Date: Tuesday August 22, 2023
Main Card: 8:00 PM ET
Watch on: ESPN+
Luis Pajuelo Betting Preview
Pajuelo has been victorious in his previous four battles and is aiming to land another. His most recent success was a second round TKO against Heber Federico Pereyra back in March earlier this year.
Through seven of his victories so far, he has put together six knockouts and one decision. Three of his seven wins have resulted in a first round finish and his only loss has come by decision.
“Corazon de Leon” has spent a majority of his time in the Fusion Fighting Championship where he has gone 5-0 against solid opponents. This will arguably be another of his toughest battles.
Pajuelo is currently ranked as the 25
th
best professional fighter out of Latin America and the 20
th
best lightweight there. This is a tremendous opportunity to increase his rank and show his talents on a bigger stage.
Robbie Ring Betting Preview
Ring is undefeated through six fights so far in his career. His last successful bout was a first round TKO against Josh Delgadillo back in April of this year.
In his six battles so far, five have come by knockout and one by submission. In addition, five of his six victories have resulted in a first round finish.
“Razor” had previously gone 7-0 under amateur battles before turning professional. In his professional career, he has primarily fought with Aries Fight Series, going 3-0 against subpar fighters.
He is currently ranked as the 121
st
best featherweight fighter in the United States. He is also ranked as the 107
th
best bantamweight in the US. This is a great opportunity to move up further in the rankings and to earn a coveted UFC contract.
Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
The following moneyline from MyBookie reveals that Robbie Ring is moving towards becoming a moderate favorite to win the opening battle. Both fighters have quality resumes to prove why they should earn the contract, making this a competitive showdown.
Luis Pajuelo: +136
Robbie Ring: -175
*odds are subject to changes
If Pajuelo wins, he will be the second Peruvian fighter to make his way to the UFC from the DWCS this season. He has shown excellent finishing abilities and has a great shot here to win. However, Ring has shown explosive power and has actually defeated a DWCS alum Jacob Kilburn just a few fights back.
Final Pick: Take Robbie Ring to Win at -175
