Denver Nuggets vs. Sacramento Kings

February 9, 2024

The streaking and ascending defending champion Denver Nuggets get set to take on the upstart Sacramento Kings Friday night inside the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA. They tip it off at 10:00 pm.  Bookmaker has installed the Nuggets as a very slim 1.5-point favorite.

Denver Nuggets Betting Preview

The Nuggets have been on a nice little tear of late and every team in the league is gunning for them when they play them. The defending champions know they are going to get the opposition's best shot night in and night out.

They have the depth and the talent to handle any type of adversity and it would not shock us, if they made another deep run out of the Western Conference. As long as they have the best player in the league on the floor, Denver is a team to watch out for.

Nikola Jokic has once again played at an MVP-like level and he has the stats to back it up. The 28th-year-old center is averaging 26 points per game -- which is right around his career-high -- he achieved several years back. He is rebounding and playing both ends of the floor and getting his teammates involved in the offense.

This could be a high-scoring game as Denver will try to at least get 115-120 in this one.

Sacramento Kings Betting Preview

The Kings have hit a little snag as they have dropped three out of five overall after a nice four-game winning streak. They are eight games over .500 on the season and have a nice roster that has a good mix of young and old players. They have a couple of players to build around.

De'Aaron Fox is a star and he plays like one. The slick 26-year-old point guard has had a brilliant season as he is netting 26 points per game and it is clear he is the center of their offense. He can put the ball on the floor and take it right to the basket and he looks to get his teammates involved as well.

He is handing out 5.3 assists per contest and his court vision has stood out this season.

Fox also looks to get his teammate power forward Domantas Sabonis who is putting up solid numbers of his own too. The athletic and talented power forward is averaging around 19 points a game and hauling down 13 boards per contest.

The Kings will look to push the pace and tempo in this one. If they can limit second chance shots and opportunities by the Nuggets they have a legit shot to win this game outright. The Kings also need to limit turnovers and knock down their open looks.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

The Kings are 2-3 in their last five games and 2-3 in their last five games against the spread. They are a solid 16-10 in their road games against the number and the totals have gone over in four out of their last five games, Denver is 4-1 in their last five games and 2-3 in their last five games against the spread. The Nuggets are 9-15 in their road games against the spread too.

Pick: Denver Nuggets -1.5 point favorite.
