Detroit Tigers vs. Toronto Blue Jays

May 26, 2024

Game 4 of a four-game series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers will take place in Detroit, Michigan, at Comerica Park. The game will start at 11:35 AM ET Sunday morning and air on Roku, Root Sports North, and TVA.

Toronto Blue Jays Team Preview

After winning Game 1 in dominating fashion by a score of 9-1 on Thursday, the Blue Jays have fallen behind 1-2 in the series after losing Game 2 by a score of 2-6 on Friday and Game 3 by a score of 1-2 on Saturday.

The bats for Toronto looked like they were getting hot, as they had scored nine runs in two of the three games before the series and then scored nine runs in Game 1 on Thursday; however, they have only scored a total of two runs in their last two games in the series against the Tigers.

Toronto has been billed as a team that scores at will when they enter the 2024 MLB season; however, they have struggled this season to produce runs as they have scored a total of 194 runs, which is the 3rd fewest runs in the American League, only above the Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners. The inability to produce runs this season has led Toronto to be below.500 with a record of 23-28, which puts them in last place in the AL East.

The Toronto Blue Jays will look to end their two-game losing streak and avoid a series loss against the Detroit Tigers when they travel to Detroit for Game 4 of the series.

Detroit Tigers Team Preview

The Detroit Tigers ended their five-game losing streak with a 6-2 win in Game 2 of the series against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, and they are now on a two-game winning streak following Saturday's 2-1 win in Game 3 of the series on Saturday.

The pitching rotation for the Tigers remains one of the better in the American League and has limited the Blue Jays to a total of three runs in the last two games of the series, including only allowing a run in Game 3 on Saturday.

Even though Reese Olson has a losing record this season at 1-5, he has pitched well with an ERA of 2.16 while recording 43 strikeouts and had another great performance on the mound against the Blue Jays on Saturday as he pitched 6 ? innings, allowed one run, and struck out four to pick up his first win of the season.

The Detroit Tigers will look to extend their winning streak to three games and get their second series win in May, when they host the Toronto Blue Jays for Game 4 of the series on Sunday morning.

Odds and Series Trends

On Sunday morning, JustBet has the Toronto Blue Jays listed as -131 moneyline favorites on the road against the Detroit Tigers for Game 4 of the series.

Toronto has won six of the previous ten meetings against Detroit and has won by an average margin of 2 runs per game in those meetings, while the Tigers have won two of the previous three contests; however, the Blue Jays have outscored the Tigers by an average of 4 to 3 runs per game in those matchups.

Game Pick

Neither team is above the other. 500 and Detroit ended the series on a four-game losing streak and lost Game 1 of the series on Thursday to extend their losing streak to five games.

However, despite winning two consecutive games after winning games 2 and 3, the Tigers have lost six of the previous ten games in the series, with an average loss margin of 2 runs per game in those contests.

As a result, I am taking the moneyline for the Toronto Blue Jays when they travel to face the Detroit Tigers for Game 4 of the series on Sunday morning.
