  • Course: The K Club - Ryder Course

  • Purse: €3,000,000

Horizon Irish Open Betting Preview

The North Course was designed by legendary Arnold Palmer and is a par 72 and measures 7,277 yards. This course features tons of sand and water, as well as tree-lined fairways with some doglegs.

It is unlikely that an underdog will be triumphant here, as too many quality golfers will be on display. The average scores for these tournaments have been -15 and up, but these have been at different venues. Back in 2016, the winning score was -12, which was played here.

Golfers with Best Chance to Win

Among the golfers in contention, these individuals stand out as prime contenders for victory or securing a spot in the top 10 at the Horizon Irish Open.

Tyrell Hatton +900

Hatton is a good option here, as he placed fifth at this event back in 2016. He is coming off of a T16 finish at the Tour Championship and ranks as the 13th best golfer in the world. He has also earned a spot on the Ryder Cup team, so this will be a good warmup heading into that one.

Adam Scott +1800

Scott last played at the Wyndham Championship in early August, which was a T7 finish. He is currently ranked as the 40th best golfer in the world and has a good shot to win here.

Shane Lowry +2200

Lowry makes a good case from the World Tour side of things, as he is the 15th best golfer under their rankings. He recently missed the cut at the Czech Masters and has not had that great of momentum coming into this one. However, he loves playing in these types of events so maybe his motivation will be different.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

These moneyline odds, as presented by MyBookie, spotlight the quintet of golfers most poised for victory at the 2023 Horizon Irish Open.

  • Rory McIlroy: +320

  • Tyrrell Hatton: +900

  • Min Woo Lee: +1800

  • Adam Scott: +1800

  • Shane Lowry: +2000

Rory McIlroy +2000

This is essentially McIlroy’s event to lose, as he is the second best golfer in the world according to the rankings. He is coming off of a fourth place finish at the Tour Championship, which was against the best golfers in the world.

Now that he is taking the time to play here, this is a great opportunity against a good, but not perfect, field. He also won here back in 2016, so he returns to a familiar environment.

Final Pick: Take Rory McIlroy to Win at +320
