The 2024 Fiesta Bowl will take place on Monday, January 1^st, and will feature the 23^rd-ranked Liberty Flames and the 8^th-ranked Oregon Ducks in Glendale, Arizona at State Farm Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 1:00 PM ET and will air on ESPN.

 

The Liberty Flames enter this game ranked 23^rd in the College Football Playoff rankings and as the highest-ranked non-Power 5 team earned a spot in a New Year's 6 Bowl. The Flames ended the season with a record of 13-0 and won the Conference USA Championship game against the New Mexico State Aggies by a score of 49-35.

 

The Liberty Flames were the best rushing team in college football and the running game played a major role in the Flames being one of the highest-scoring teams in college football as they enter this game averaging 40.77 points per game which ranks 5^th in college football while averaging 302.92 rushing yards per game. 

 

Kaidon Salter played a pivotal role in the success of the offense for Liberty as he led the team in passing and was 2^nd on the team in rushing as he enters this game having completed 162 of 266 attempts for 2,750 yards with 31 touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing for 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Liberty Flames will look to remain undefeated and finish with the most wins in school history when they face the Oregon Ducks.

 

The Oregon Ducks were one of the best teams in college football this season as they finished the season with a record of 11-2 with both losses coming against the Washington Huskies including a 31-34 loss in the Pac-12 Championship game which also ended their six-game winning streak. Bo Nix was one of the best players in college football this season and was one of the main catalysts for the success the Ducks had this year. 

 

Nix enters this game having completed 336 of 435 attempts for 4,145 yards with 40 touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing for 228 yards and six touchdowns which led Oregon to be the 2^nd highest-scoring team in college football with an average of 44.15 points per game while also having the best passing offense with an average of 341.69 passing yards per game. The Oregon Ducks will look to bounce back following the loss in the Pac-12 Championship when they play the Liberty Flames in the Fiesta Bowl.

This will be the first time in the history of these two programs that they will face each other in college football. The Liberty Flames are 9-4 ATS overall this season while the Oregon Ducks are 9-3-1 ATS overall and 9-3 ATS as a favorite on the year.

Surprisingly Bo Nix will play for Oregon and there is no chance Liberty will be able to keep this game close if that is the case.  Of course it is too early to make that determination but for now Liberty gives up quite a few points, Oregon has a solid rush defense and this game could get ugly if Nix does play.
