Golden State Warriors vs. Indiana Pacers

February 8, 2024

Two of the highest-scoring teams in the NBA will square off on Thursday evening when the Golden State Warriors travel to Indianapolis, Indiana to face the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with the game tipping off at 7:00 PM ET and will air on Bally Sports Indiana.

Golden State enters this game with a record of 23-25 which gives them the 5th worst record in the Western Conference, however, they are on a two-game winning streak following Wednesday’s 127-104 win on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Warriors are the 8th highest-scoring team in the league this season with an average of 118.74 points per game.

Stephen Curry has played a pivotal role in the success the Warriors have had this season and leads the team in scoring with an average of 28.1 points per game while leading the NBA in 3-point shots made with 213 made this season. Defensively, Golden State has been below average as they are allowing an average of 118.4 points per game which is more than the league average of 115.58 points per game. The Golden State Warriors will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they travel to face the Indiana Pacers.

The Indiana Pacers are the highest-scoring team in the NBA this season with an average of 123.88 points per game which is the main reason the Pacers have been one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference with a record of 29-23 which puts them in 6th place in the Eastern Conference and are on a two-game winning streak following Tuesday’s 132-129 win at home against the Houston Rockets. However, Indiana has been one of the worst teams defensively in the league as they are allowing the 3rd most points per game in the NBA with an average of 122.38 points allowed per game. Tyrese Haliburton has been one of the best players on the Pacers and has been one of the main catalysts of the success Indiana has had offensively as he leads the team in scoring and assists with an average of 22.5 points and 11.7 assists per game. The Indiana Pacers will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday evening.

BookMaker has the Indiana Pacers listed as 6-point favorites at home against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday evening. Indiana has won six of the last ten including the previous three meetings. The Pacers have covered the spread in seven of the last ten and have covered the spread in the previous four games in the series. The Golden State Warriors are 24-23-1 ATS overall, 14-8 ATS on the road, and 12-6-1 ATS as an underdog this season while the Indiana Pacers are 28-22-3 ATS overall, 14-11-2 ATS at home, and 11-10-1 ATS as a favorite on the year.

Indiana enters this game with a better record and has been the better team in the series, winning six of the last ten including three straight against Golden State. The Pacers have covered the spread in seven of the last ten including the previous four games in the series while having been the better team at covering the spread this season with a record of 28-22-3 ATS overall while the Warriors are 24-23-1 ATS which is why I am laying the points with the Indiana Pacers when they host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday evening.
