Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts

September 15, 2024

Written by: Evan Perkins

The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) and Green Bay Packers (0-1) aim to gain a win after close losses in Week 1. This NFL showdown will take place on Sunday, September 15, at 1:00 PM ET at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Colts are favored on the road and have a point spread of -3.5 (+100).

Indianapolis Colts Betting Preview

The Colts played surprisingly well in their season opener against the Houston Texans, but there are some areas for improvement. They lost 29-27, but they had strong scoring drives in retaliation for each Texans score.

Anthony Richardson had a big game, completing nine of 19 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. On top of that, he rushed six times for 56 yards and added another touchdown. Alex Pierce was also a big part of that offense, with three receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown.

The Colts put up 303 yards and allowed the Texans to get 417. They also had possession of the ball for 20 minutes, compared to the Texans' hold time of 40 minutes. In other words, seeing how quickly they can score with little time is good.

Against the Packers, they will need to do a better job at getting more players involved offensively. Richardson was great, but the offense fully rested on his shoulders for big plays.

Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

The Packers enter this week's matchup fresh off a 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. They had a 19-17 lead after the first half but could not slow down the Eagles in the third, which propelled them forward in the game.

Jordan Love had a respectable game, completing half of his 34 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns. He did throw an interception, but the biggest story heading into the next game is that he is listed as doubtful due to a knee issue.

They will start Malik Willis at quarterback for this game. Willis has played limitedly the last two years with the Tennessee Titans. So far, he has averaged a 52.2 percent completion rate, 5.2 yards on passes, and 4.5 yards per rush attempt.

The Packers will need a big game from Willis, as Love is their driving force on offense. This could be a rough start for the Packers as they acclimate to positive momentum.
