The success of the Boise State Broncos this season can be attributed to an above-average scoring offense and an above-average scoring defense as they enter this game averaging 32.92 points per game while allowing an average of 24.85 points per game. 

The success the Broncos had offensively can be attributed to their rushing offense as they enter this game having averaged 214.69 rushing yards per game which ranked 6^th in college football. Ashton Jeanty was their offensive leader as he led the team in rushing with 1,266 yards and 14 touchdowns.
