LIV GOLF - Mayakoba Tournament Handicapping Preview & Predictions

February 22, 2023

The LIV Golf Tour kicks off their 2023 campaign at Mayakoba. The play takes place in the resort town of Playa del Carmen on the eastern coast of Mexico. The tournament begins on Friday, February 24, 2023, and ends on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

El Camaleon Golf Club

The El Camaleon Golf Club is a par 71 that measures just over 7,000 yards in length. Possessing a unique landscape, there are holes that run along the ocean, through a tropical jungle, and through mangroves. The resort-style course allows birdies to come in bunches for the world’s best, so players better be ready to attack the pins.

There are a few keys to success on the property, and the first is to navigate your tee shots without finding the penalty areas that run along many of the fairways on the course.

Next, the course has large and rather manageable green complexes, so players with precision with their second or third shots should set themselves up nicely for birdie opportunities.

LIV Golf – Mayakoba Betting Picks

  • Matthew Wolff +2063 (1.5 Unit) Let me first say this being on the forefront of things….. Wolff was not our first golfer…. he wasn't even our 2nd or 3rd golfer but he holds the most value and sitting in 4th place in our system rankings. Being honest, Sergio Garcia was #1, Abraham Ancer was #2 and DJ was #3 however each of them have horrible betting odds and I won't play them at those numbers, so we are going with Wolff this week and hoping for the best.

  • Matthew Wolff over Brooks Koepka -130 (2 Units) Even during Koepka's good years, he never played good at this course. In three attempts, he has missed the cut in each of the attempts finishing in 72nd, 90th and 108th place. This course just does not suite him well for his style of play. Wolff on the other hand, we have competing for the win as stated above.

  • Carlos Ortiz over Louis Oosthuizen +108 (2 Units) Let me preface this by saying that I hate going against Louis Oosthuizen because he is one of my favorite golfers HOWEVER hard to argue the fact that a ton of value is on Ortiz here. He loves this course. He has finished in 2nd place in 2 of the last 3 years, with the other tournament in between finishing in 8th place. At plus money, he is a must play over Louis!
