The 2023 LIV Valderrama tournament is coming up soon and golfers engage in a battle on a popular course.
This will be the first time that LIV is appearing at this golf course. This course was previously on the DP World Tour, but it has hosted other events in the early 2000’s.
This course is a Par 71 that spans across 7,020 yards give or take. It is one of the trickier courses to play on, as patient golfers will often be rewarded for thinking each hole through. The winning scores are all over the place, so golfers will need to remain consistent regardless of where the winner is heading.
The fairways are narrow and heavily tree lined, especially trying to hit shots from the fairway. The greens are also a little smaller, meaning golfers will have to be accurate when approaching.
The following golfers have the best chance to win or at least place within the top 10 in the 2023 Valderrama tournament.
Johnson will be making his first appearance at this golf course. He is the former number one golfer in the world and has the resume to perform well here. He has been great at US courses this year, but has not been the same overseas.
Koepka has cooled off after some exciting finishes earlier this season. While he has not played here before, he has won two out of three events that have been held in Spain in the past on the Challenge Tour when he competed.
Smith has six consecutive top six finishes within the top 10 since April. He has yet to record a victory after posting five on the Tour last year. This will be a great opportunity if he can remain patient on a tough course.

Garcia is back at one of his most beloved golf courses. He has finished outside the top 10 just one time in his 15 attempts here.
He was victorious here in 2011, 2017, and 2018, as well as several top three finishes in the early 2000’s and 2016. This man has his name written all over this course and has the most experience out of anyone in the field. Look for him to impress this time around.
