Two of the better teams in the Western Conference will face each other on Monday night when the Los Angeles Kings travel to Edmonton, Alberta to face the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place. The game is scheduled to start at 9:30 PM ET and will air on Bally Sports West and Root Sports North.

The Los Angeles Kings enter this game with a record of 29-17-10 and 68 points which puts them in 4^th place in the Pacific Division and gives them the 6^th best record in the Western Conference while having won five of their last six games including a 3-2 shootout win at home against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. Offensively, Los Angeles ranks 17^th in scoring in the NHL with an average of 3.11 goals per game and has the 9^th-best power-play success rate at 22.91%. Adrian Kempe has been one of the better players on the team as he leads the team in assists and points with 32 assists and 51 points. The Los Angeles Kings will look to win their 6^th game in their last seven games when they travel to face the Edmonton Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers are in 3^rd place in the Pacific Division with a record of 33-20-2 and 68 points which also puts them in a tie with the Los Angeles Kings for the 6^th best record in the Western Conference, however, the Oilers are on a three-game losing streak following Saturday’s 3-6 loss at home against the Calgary Flames. The Oilers have been one of the highest-scoring teams in the NHL this season as they are averaging 3.58 goals per game which ranks 5^th in the league and have the 3^rd best power-play success rate at 27.44%. 

Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman have played pivotal roles in the success the Oilers have had this season as McDavid leads the league in assists with 68 and 3^rd in points with 89 while Hyman is tied for 3^rd in the league in goals with 37. 

Defensively, Edmonton has also been above average as they rank 12^th in goals allowed per game with an average of 3.02 goals allowed per game and ranks 16^th in penalty-kill percentage at 79.46%. The Edmonton Oilers will look to end their three-game losing streak when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.
