  • Location: Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California

Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

For the longest time this season, the Royals had been close to the A’s as the worst team in the league. They have found some minor success in separating themselves, but they both have had their issues. Cole Ragans (4-4) takes the mound for game three and has an ERA at 4.08.

On offense, they actually do not do a bad job. Their batting average is about .244, which is better than the A’s, but they have difficulty in slowing down their opponents since they allow roughly .264.

Their ERA is close to 5.18, which is more attainable than what the A’s put up, and their OBP is hovering .300. Their slugging percentage is not the worst at around .398, but definitely could be better.

The Royals are last in the AL Central and are about 26 games behind the first place Minnesota Twins. They are essentially playing for pride right now, so they do not look bad against the worst team in the league.

Oakland Athletics Betting Preview

The A’s have been consistent all season, as the worst team in the league. They recently lost three straight to the Baltimore Orioles before this series, but that did not seem to affect them with their game one victory against the Royals.

The A’s have been a great example of what not to do in the MLB. Their batting average is the lowest in the league around .224 and they are allowing opponents to be close to .272.

Their ERA is also the worst in the league at 5.79, but their OBP is about the same as the Royals at .301. Their slugging percentage is also one of the worst in the league, hovering around .367.

The A’s are doing what they can to make each series competitive, as they are about 37 games behind the leading Texas Rangers in the AL West. They have an opportunity to make the Royals look silly, especially with how they dominated in game one.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

The odds are not yet available since the A’s were late to naming a starting pitcher. Despite not having odds, according to market analysis, the Royals have a 56 percent chance to finish strong.

The A’s are terrible no matter where they play, while the Royals are just as bad on the road. Look for the Royals to pull off game three with a win.

Final Pick: Take the Kansas City Royals to Win
