NBA Betting Pick and Prediction: Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors
November 11, 2023
A pair of Atlantic Division rivals will face each other on Saturday night when the Toronto Raptors travel to Boston, Massachusetts to face the division-leading Boston Celtics at the TD Garden with the game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM ET.
Toronto started the season with a record of 1-3, however, they have now won three of their last four games to improve to 4-4 on the season while also coming into this game on a two-game winning streak following Wednesday’s 127-116 win on the road against the Dallas Mavericks while also covering the 4.5-point spread as a road underdog by winning the game outright. It seems that the magic number for the Raptors this season has been 108 points as they have not lost a game when scoring 108 or more points, however, when scoring less than 108 points they are 1-4 which bodes well for the Raptors when they travel to face the Boston Celtics as the Celtics are allowing an average of 108.57 points per game this season.
The Boston Celtics are looking like the best team in the Eastern Conference at the start of the season as they enter this game with a record of 6-2 and finally ended their two-game losing streak on Friday when they defeated the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 121-107. The Celtics have one of the highest-scoring teams in the league as they are averaging the 3
most points per game this season with an average of 120.57 which is only behind the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks. Jayson Tatum has played a pivotal role in the success that the Boston Celtics have had this season as he leads the team in scoring and rebounds with an average of 27.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. The Celtics also have one of the best scoring defenses in the league as they rank 9
in points allowed per game with an average of 108.57 points.
BookMaker has the Boston Celtics listed as 8-point favorites at home against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night. Boston has won eight of the last ten including the previous four meetings in a row while going 7-3 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Toronto Raptors are 5-3 ATS overall, 3-1 ATS on the road, 3-2 ATS as an underdog, and 0-2 ATS in division games this season while the Boston Celtics are 3-3-2 ATS overall, 2-1 ATS at home, 3-3-2 ATS as a favorite, and 1-1-2 ATS in division games on the year.
Boston is the more talented team this season and enters the game with a better record with a record of 6-2 while Toronto has a record of 4-4. The Celtics have also dominated the series against the Toronto Raptors having won eight of the last ten including sweeping the series last season with a record of 4-0 while also covering the spread in three of the four contests. I look for those trends to continue which is why I am laying the points with the Boston Celtics when they host the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.
Spooky Express Pick: Boston Celtics -8
