The reeling Brooklyn Nets get set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder Friday night inside the famed Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. They tip it off at 7:30 pm and on paper, this seems to be a good contest because the Nets are beyond desperate for a win in the worst way.  Bookmaker has installed the Thunder as a solid - 5 1/2 point favorite. 

The Nets (15-20) are already buried in the Atlantic Division and they have hit a bad losing streak and slide. They have dropped 10 of 12 overall and are seeing the season slip away. On offense, they are led and paced by Cam Thomas, who is averaging around 20 a game. The Nets have some solid scorers along with Thomas, including Mikal Bridges who is contributing around 20.7 points a contest too. 

Brooklyn is a team that needs to play defense especially late in games. They have had too many mental lapses and breakdowns late in games. 

As a whole offensive unit, they are shooting roughly 53% from the floor, including 37% from beyond the arc too. They can knock down the open shots and need to drain them against a decent Thunder team. 

The Thunder (23-10) have been one of the early surprises of the season and they have recently seen their impressive five-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks, 141-138. In a wild high-scoring game, Atlanta made some huge buckets in the fourth quarter and down the stretch. 

On the other end, the Thunder could not buy a bucket late and it cost them. On offense, they are led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who is netting around 30 points per game to go along with just under six rebounds per contest. 

Oklahoma City relies on the three-point shot and they are connecting on around 33% from the floor. They also would like to push the pace in this game as they feel the Nets do not have the firepower to keep up with them. If they can get some early buckets that will put a substantial amount of pressure on the Nets' backcourt to pick up the slack. It remains to be seen if they will be able to do that and keep this game close/.
