The Brooklyn Nets get set to take on the Utah Jazz Monday night inside the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. They tip it off at 9:00pm. The Nets have looked good early on this season, while the Jazz has struggled mightily. 

 

Bookmaker has installed the Nets as a solid 3 1/2 point favorite. 

 

 

The Nets (13-12) have dropped two straight and three of four overall but still sit a game over .500. They have hung tough for the first 20 or so games of the season and they have started to pick it up on the offensive side of the floor. 

 

On offense, they are led by Mikal Bridges who has netted a solid 22 a game for the Nets, who are not the most successful team on the road as they have compiled a record of just 5-7 on the road. They would love to have Cam Thomas out on the floor more, as he has battled some injuries this season. But he has been on the floor of late and is coming off a monster 41 point explosion in a 124-120 loss to the Phoenix Suns. 

 

He is an explosive scorer and loves to also put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. 

 

They connect on 53% from the floor and a solid 39% from beyond the arc. They have some shooters that can connect from three-point land too and look for them to push the pace against the Jazz in this one. The Nets also need to win the battle on the boards as they are hauling down just under 48 boards per game and they score 116 a game. 

 

 

The Jazz (9-17) have really struggled this season and they enter this game having dropped four of six overall. They have been slow to get out of the gate and they have had major issues with scoring and doing it at a consistent level and pace. 

 

They have some players on their roster and they need to get better production from their bench but more importantly their marquee players. They are led on offense by power forward Lauri Markkanded who has netted 23 a game this season. He has shown he is clearly the face of the franchise and they would love to build their offense around him. 

 

They also have a nice guard in Jordan Clarkson but he has been banged up and will not be able for Monday's contest. He was averaging around 16 a game and he has also stepped up as the floor general and leader. 

 

 

The Jazz are 1-4 in their last five games and 2-3 in their last five games against the number and a brutal 3-8 in their roadgames against the number. The totals have gone over in just two of their last five games and the totals have gone over in seven out of their last 11 games at home.The Nets are a solid 4-1 in their last five games and a very nice 4-1 in their last five games against the spread. They are also 6-2 in their road games against the number.  Nets are deeper and more talented. Brooklyn minus the points.
